To say talented is an understatement. As well as being very passionate about his music he cares about his fans. Randy Matthews
Singer-Songwriter Multi-instrumentalist
Artist Randy Matthews was born and raised in the culturally rich town of Port aux Basques, Newfoundland. He began writing music at 15 years old and recorded two albums as a teenager. As an adult, he pursued other interests but has recently returned to his passion for writing and performing. He has since developed a strong fanbase in Newfoundland through live shows and online performances. Randy cites Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings, and Chris Stapleton as his major influences, and he considers Newfoundland traditional icon Roy Payne as his biggest local influence. He has performed at well-known venues on the island such as Woody Point Heritage Theatre, Norris Point Town Hall, Mile One Growlers Game, The Gathering in Burlington, and Marble Mountain. Randy Matthews has also performed at notable venues such as the Arts and Culture Centres in Clarenville, Gander, Corner Brook, and Labrador West, Holy Heart Theatre in St. John's and Princess Sheila Nageira Theatre. Randy is a two time Country Artist of the Year Nominee with Music NL for 2022 and 2023. He has completed three successful tours with NL Promotions, most all shows being full house and sold out. Some of the shows include "Kings of Country," "American Outlaws: A Tribute to the Highwaymen," and "A Legendary Christmas." He released a new album in March of 2022, three acoustic singles between February 2022 and May 2023. A new album is in works and the releases will be announced soon.
